Class 7 takes an excursion to the School eco park
The students of Class VII visited Sohna Eco Park on Thursday, 11 December, as part of an educational excursion aimed at extending classroom learning through real-world experiences. A group of 50 pupils, accompanied by 2 teachers spent the day exploring the park’s serene natural surroundings while participating in a range of structured learning activities designed to reinforce scientific concepts.
During the visit, the students observed several life sized scientific models that brought abstract theories to life. These included demonstrations of angular momentum, Newton’s Disc, and the molecular structure of DNA. In addition, they examined exhibits explaining the properties and applications of concave and convex mirrors, which helped deepen their understanding of key principles of physics through observation and discussion.
The excursion also incorporated inter disciplinary learning and recreation. The pupils engaged in a creative writing task titled “Learning from the Land: How a Farm Visit Deepens Scientific and Environmental Understanding,” encouraging reflection on the role of nature as a learning resource.
The group further gained practical insight into basic agricultural practices by picking seasonal vegetables and learning about cultivation and sustainability. The visit concluded with recreational activities, including a friendly game of basketball, making the excursion both educational and enjoyable, and leaving students with a lasting appreciation of science, environment, and experiential learning.
