Pre primary and Bal Vatika 1 engage in a special Dussehra activity
On Friday, 16 October 2026, the Pre primary and Bal Vatika 1 children participated in a Dussehra activity designed to help them understand and embrace good values in a simple, age-appropriate way, in keeping with our School’s focus on values rather than religious practices.
We began with a circle time discussion about Dussehra and how it represents the victory of good over evil. We explained that evil can also mean bad habits and behaviour such as anger, telling lies, hurting others and not sharing. It was wonderful to hear children share their fears of lizards, strangers and monsters, along with habits that they wish to change.
With the help of their teachers, the children wrote or drew their fears and bad habits on slips and pasted them on a Ravan balloon. Bursting the balloon symbolised their promise to overcome their fears and work on their habits.
It was a meaningful experience that encouraged children to reflect on themselves and take small steps towards becoming kinder and better every day.
