Visit to the Bookaroo Childrens Literature Festival

On 4 October 2026, ten students from Classes V and VI visited Sunder Nursery, to attend the Bookaroo Children’s Literature Festival, a vibrant celebration of children’s literature, storytelling, illustration and creative expression.

The visit provided students with an enriching opportunity to explore the world of books beyond the classroom and engage in a variety of interactive and artistic activities. One of the highlights of the visit was a doodling session conducted by renowned Dutch illustrator Mark Janssen, which encouraged the students to exercise their imaginations and express their ideas through illustrations.

The students also explored the Book Nest, immersing themselves in the joy of books and reading. They participated in a colouring competition organised by PETA, which combined creativity with an opportunity to engage with animal-related themes. Additionally, they took part in an engaging puzzle activity by Hachette, which encouraged logical thinking, observation and problem-solving skills.

The visit to Bookaroo was a memorable and educational experience that fostered creativity, curiosity, teamwork and a love for reading among the students. It offered them a valuable opportunity to interact with the wider world of children’s literature and appreciate the many ways in which stories can come alive through art, performance and imagination.

Overall, the excursion was a meaningful blend of learning and enjoyment, leaving the students inspired to read, create and explore new ideas.
