Relationship Day celebrated in Pre School and Pre Primary
“A mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take.”
This quote by Cardinal Mermillod beautifully encapsulates the spirit of Relationship Day celebrated with immense enthusiasm and heartfelt warmth at The Indian School on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
This special event was organised to honour and cherish the invaluable role of mothers and aunts in the lives of young children. The celebration was conducted in two slots—catering to both the Pre-School and Pre-Primary sections.
The School campus was brimming with excitement from the morning. Our budding Indianites arrived dressed smartly in their colourful house uniforms—vibrant blue, green, red, and yellow t-shirts, which added a delightful touch to the festive atmosphere.
The excitement was clearly visible on their little faces—it was after all their first performance before their beloved mothers and aunts.
The council members of class 5 enthusiastically assisted the guests, directing them to the auditorium after presenting them with a warm gesture of appreciation—“Super Mom” and “Dear Aunt” badges. The auditorium was beautifully adorned with vibrant children's handprint buntings, colourful flowers, and charming butterfly paintings—perfectly setting the stage for the performances.
Rigyang Namsel (class V), Aqdas Akhtar and Kathan Sharma ( class IV) confidently anchored the programme.
Principal, Ms. Tania Joshi, warmly welcomed the parents and emphasised the significance of the following principles—Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava, Atithi Devo Bhava, and Acharya Devo Bhava. She explained how these teach us to accord respect to our parents, elders, teachers, guests, our environment and all other forms of life.
The celebration opened with a heartwarming dance performance to the beats of “I am so Happy” by the Pre School children, whose adorable movements and enthusiastic energy completely captivated the audience. The Pre Primary children also took the stage with a lively performance of "I can Count on You",.beautifully conveying the special bond of trust and love that they share with their mothers and aunts. Through the performances, the audience was visibly delighted—cheering and applauding the young talents. The little Indianites further showcased their love through a endearing medley of songs including “You Are My Sunshine”, “I Love You Mommy” and “Thodi Si Cute Hai”. The melodious tunes and sweet voices left many of the audience members visibly emotional.
As a part of the Sanskara Syllabus, the young Indianites lovingly served refreshments to all the guests, demonstrating the values of gratitude and respect instilled in them.
Adding a fun twist to the event, a lively game was conducted by Ms Othilia Fernandes—the mothers along with their children were handed balloons to inflate and draw an expressive emoji on it! The game brought out peals of laughter and playful bonding moments between the children and their mothers.
A heartwarming Memory Lane video was presented, showcasing candid moments and special pictures of the mothers and children, evoking smiles and happy tears among the audience. Many mothers were visibly emotional, touched by the thoughtful gesture.
Head Teacher, Ms Vandana Tiwari, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging everyone's presence and contribution to the day's success.
To conclude the memorable day, the mothers and aunts were presented with special handmade gifts—a beautiful card with handprints, bubble wrap, and leaf printing. They also received an eco-friendly plant and a seed pencil as thoughtful takeaways, symbolisng growth, love and nurturing.
