Rolling Trophy at inter school Critical Thinking conclave
The students of The Indian School participated in CTG 3.0 – Critical Thinking Gathering, an inter school competition hosted by Sunbeam Sarnath, Varanasi, from 5th to 7th August 2025. The three-day conclave brought together young minds from across the country to engage in debate, dramatics, performances, and creative expressions while celebrating critical thinking, culture, and collaboration.
On 5th August, the delegation arrived at their accommodations and was warmly received by the host institution. The programme began with an engaging ice-breaking session at Sunbeam School, Sarnath, where the participants took part in interactive activities and storytelling centred around the cultural and historical richness of Varanasi. Later in the day, the students visited the Tarang Venue at Sunbeam Lahartara, where they were introduced to the intricate art of weaving and the traditional concept of ‘Tana Bana’. This cultural immersion gave them a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and heritage of the city.
The following day, 6th August, marked the formal commencement of the competitions at CTG 3.0. The debate prelims witnessed the participation of Samiya Khurana of Class XI-B as the turncoat speaker and Ryan Singh of Class XII-A as the extempore speaker. Our School also presented its team for English Dramatics – Quartet, comprising Tashika Rao of X-E, Disha Verma of XI-B, Shiksha Dwivedi of XI-E, and Samiya Khurana of XI-B. The event “Moveament,” an innovative blend of dance and art installation, saw the participation of Shiksha Dwivedi of XI-E and Disha Verma of XI-B, while the creative writing event included entries from Disha Verma of XI-B and Tashika Rao of X-E.
The day ended with an inspiring address by Knowledge Curator Mr Parnab Mukherjee, who stressed the significance of creativity and critical inquiry in education. The prize announcements brought further glory to our School as our Dramatics' team won the award for Best Script, while Samiya Khurana of XI-B was declared Best Performer in the same event. Our School debate team qualified for the finals scheduled for the next day.
The last day of the conclave, 7th August, began with the debate finals- “Plurilogues”, where the team from our School, represented by Samiya Khurana OF XI-B and Ryan Singh OF XII-A, showcased their oratory excellence. The day also included speeches by dignitaries such as the host Principal, the Director, and members of the Board of Sunbeam Schools. The closing prize distribution ceremony, conducted by Mr Parnab Mukherjee, was a moment of pride for our delegation. The debate team secured the second prize, while Samiya Khurana was recognised as the Best Speaker in the finals. The event “Moveament” brought further recognition with Shiksha Dwivedi of XI-E and Disha Verma of XI-B winning the Joint Third Position.
The Indian School was awarded the Overall Rolling Trophy as a team, a testimony to the collective excellence and spirit of the team.
The conclave concluded with vibrant cultural performances of music and dance, followed by closing speeches, leaving students with enriching experiences and lasting memories. The participation of The Indian School in CTG 3.0 was marked not only by commendable achievements but also by meaningful engagement with peers, culture, and ideas. The gathering reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills of critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
