Class 5 excursion to the Air Force Museum
Museums don’t just preserve history, they let us walk among the echoes of courage and touch the spirit of heroism.
On 17 September 2025, the students of class V of The Indian School embarked on an exciting educational trip to the Indian Air Force Museum, a treasure trove of India’s glorious aviation journey — from its humble beginnings in 1932 to the modern era.
The museum opened its doors to a world of wonder, featuring historic aircraft, miniature models, rare photographs, uniforms, personal weapons, and war memorabilia. The exhibits were thoughtfully arranged across different sections — an indoor gallery showcasing photographs and collectibles, a spacious hangar with legendary aircraft, and an outdoor gallery proudly displaying war trophies and equipment.
Guided through the galleries, the children listened attentively as they learned about the bravery and dedication of the Indian Air Force. Their eyes sparkled with excitement at the sight of iconic aircraft such as the MIG fighter jets and other historic airplanes that once ruled the skies. The display of uniforms, weapons, and rare photographs painted a vivid picture of the courage and sacrifice behind every mission.
The visit was not only enjoyable but also deeply inspiring. It gave the young learners a chance to step into the world of aviation history and feel the pride of India’s defence forces. As they returned, their hearts carried stories of valour and their minds held a deeper appreciation for the heroes who guard our skies.
The excursion unfolded like a living storybook, where history soared on wings of heroism and left every heart inspired.
