The students of PP Gemini confidently presented a Special Assembly on the theme "Caring for the Environment". They performed in great enthusiasm and confidence, showing the hard work and regular practice they had put in over the previous few days. The assembly was closely linked to the School Citizenship Programme, which encourages children to become responsible and caring individuals. One of its focus areas is caring for the environment, and the students beautifully shared this message through their performances.
Through simple dialogues and creative presentations, the children shared easy ways to care for our environment. They encouraged everyone to switch off lights when not in use, save water, throw waste only in dustbins, avoid plucking leaves and flowers, and follow the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Their performances reminded everyone that small actions can make a big difference.
The children also presented a short enactment of the “Chipko Movement”, which gave a strong message about protecting trees and caring for nature. The assembly reflected the values of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15: Life on Land, encouraging children to become responsible and caring citizens.
The programme ended with the whole class singing the inspiring song "Ped Lagaoge", spreading the message that planting and protecting trees helps build a greener and healthier future.
The special assembly was a wonderful celebration of environmental awareness and a remarkable showcase of the students' confidence, teamwork, creativity, and sense of responsibility towards Mother Earth.
