The Hindustan Times Storytelling and Data Journalism Workshop LitFest Preview 2025

A group of students of The Indian School attended an interactive workshop titled Storytelling and Data Journalism, organised by Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, in collaboration with The Hindustan Times on Saturday, 1 November 2025. The resource persons for the event were Ms Simi Srivastava, an acclaimed storyteller, and Mr Roshan Kishore, a noted data journalist. The participating students from The Indian School were Ishita Kapoor (XI-C), Nyasa Sharma (X), Ananya Chakraborty (XI-C), Rishima Dubey (XI-C), and Ashwani Prakash (XI-B).

The workshop comprised of two sessions that offered students valuable exposure to both creative and analytical forms of communication. Ms Srivastava’s session focused on the art of storytelling, demonstrating how narratives can be used as powerful tools for expression and engagement. This was followed by Mr Kishore’s session on data journalism, where students learned about interpreting facts and figures to construct meaningful and accurate media narratives. The experience proved enriching and insightful, equipping participants with a deeper understanding of storytelling and contemporary journalistic practices.
